Gefeliciteerd met je Verjaardag Dan!

This is how the Dutch say Happy Birthday to Dan. They're saying this today, 22 February. I can tell you that he does not look a day older than he did yesterday at this time. Birthdays are huge events in Dutch society and dedicated birthday calendars are even sold. Tongue-in-cheek poems are composed for the birthday celebrant and friends come over to celebrate. To fit it with the Dutch, we're having a party for Dan tomorrow night. They do not have US-style cakes, but don't worry - there are plenty of scrumptious alternatives!! Feel free to leave your birthdate in the comments column or to email it to us - we'll add it to our calendar. Also, if you have any poems you'd like to dedicate to him and share, you can leave them in Comments as well.
