Not deterred by strong winds...

There was a pretty big thunderstorm last night and there were high winds in the Amsterdam all day today. So even though it was about 50, it felt much colder. Nevertheless, we set off to the Van Gogh Museum. It was fantastic! We couldn't stay too long because Liliane got pretty antsy after 20 minutes. She lasted about 30 minutes after that. We were not too upset because we know we will have time to return. We also have museumjaarkartjes, which give us unlimited access to over 400 museums nationwide, including Van Gogh, for one year. We got there by taking the tram and it was only four stops from our stop, so it was pretty quick. Both the girls seemed to enjoy the tram. Liliane got around strapped to Dan's back.

In the afternoon, we headed to a medieval castle called Muislot. We also used the museumjaarkartjes there, too. The castle was great and there was the opportunity for dress up. Liliane did not like the veil that went with her outfit, but she enjoyed wearing the rest of it. Inside the castle was a virtual jousting arena where jousters could sit on fake horses, move and have their image beamed onto the floor in a tournament. The castle was really charming and I'm sure we will return. On the way out, we ran into our neighbors from upstairs! Small world. One of their sons really enjoys the castle, so they decided to stop by.
